Guest guest Posted January 3, 2007 Report Share Posted January 3, 2007 Hi, I don't have a list of the 50,000+ words but i do have a list of the words that children around 3-4 years are supposed to be able to use. It's more like a 100 or so. I can't remember what SL test it comes from and it will have british spellings but i can dig it out for you. You might need to email me off list as i am not sure how to get attachments to the group. I found it very useful. My son is deaf in addition to having an expressive delay. i listed and catagorised all the words and then tested him for reception and expression, both with sign and with voice separately. His expression with voice was basically zero but all the signs he could use were words he could hear. Despite being in a signing school at the time, he didn't have a single sign that he could not hear. It was one of the things i used to change him to an oral school.
