Teeth grinding and D

Help, my son is driving me nuts. He is 6, has cerebral palsy, non

verbal or ambulant but understands everything. If he didn't have CP

he would probably be on the spectrum somewhere, but it's hard o

diagnose and I don't see the point in chasing it up. He's had D for

four years getting progressively worse until he started SCD 7 months

ago. The mucous has gone but he still has D up to four times a day.

He has tried nuts, nut milk and nut butter, but it gives him more

frequent D so he hasn't had any for ages. He has always ground his

teeth, but it went away with scd, but has come back with a vengence

the last week, he's constantly grinding when awake. He has scd yogurt

twice a day, he's only on some stage two foods the rest stage one

still and he's getting bored with the same day in day out. He started

HNI enzymes about 6 weeks ago, stopped once for further stool tests

and once more because I ran out but now it's been two weeks, no

behavioural or stool changes really so I'm increasing the ZP to two

caps with each meal, one NF and two pep, hoping that will put an end

to the D. He's not complaining of stomach ache. Two days ago we were

out in the city all day and I didn't take enough food with me, I

weakened immensely and bought a burger, his first gluten in 7 months.

I had enzymes with me and gave him the usual amount. No bad effects

and yesterday he was continent, passed a formed stool, just one and

now today back to the same stinky smelly loose small stool as befire.

He's tested for c diff, giardia etc pancreatic enzymes, all clear and

fine.

I read teeth grinding can be mg deficiency so a few weeks ago started

a multi mineral supp that has mg phos, anything with more mg in the

past has given him worse D. I'm stuck as to what to try next, he's

back to SCD but it's wearing thin. He also was an epileptic but sice

two weeks into scd no more seizures and with his neuro's blessing

stopped his meds, I worry about what the root cause of the seizures

was and whether they'll start again if I stop SCD but he can't

continue of the foods he is eating for much longer, he's starting to

refuse. Please, any advice very welcome, thanks, Chris.

Can you give us an idea of his daily menu right now?

That might help me come up with some creative ideas for the

foods that he tolerates.

Thanks Jody, pretty much the same each day beside the increased enzymes:

breakfast is 1 stewed pear with half a banana mashed, two eggs all made

into an omlette, 1NF, 2pep and two ZP with all meals and snacks.

Morning tea, half and banana with 1/2 cup yogurt, cow at the moment

though I 've tried nut and goat with no real different, have just

started making it with cream as well.

Lunch and dinner is a casserole made with either chicken, lamb or beef,

carrots or pumpkin, all very slow cooked for a few hours, with peas and

beans, well cooked.

Afternoon tea will be another half a banana and yogurt, I have made

muffins alot in the past but he's been nut free for a few weeks now and

no let up in the D. If he's really hungry he can have some more

casserol but he seems to be through the stage of eating like a horse.

Thanks Jody, Chris.

Jody I forgot to mention what has really driven to post is that the

last two night he's been awake and hyper for hours, it may be yeast but

I thought the enzymes would deal with that. I haven't had him tested

for yeast but have tried GSE before. I don't really know how much or

for how long I should use it for. He does has darkness around his eyes

that is present at the moment, maybe that's the issue?
