Guest guest
Hi , Yep, I sure do agree with you about God giving the kids a special gift. sings with country songs, especially likes Toby , " I Wanna Talk About Me " , he amazes us at how he remembers his treatment things, asks, " time for my treatment yet? " and when I tell him yes, he says " lets go, lets go " so yep, I agree with the special gift. Take care, , mommy of 4, (17), and now a permitted driver, oh I am either getting old or just prematurely gray, Caleb (7) and still bossing the others around thinking he is the man of the house even though his daddy is home, (6) she is gonna be my artist and support her momma, since none of them are ever leaving home so they say, and (2 1/2) I believe he will be a baseball player, has the best throw of anyone I know, and I have the bruises to prove it, a big ole attitude, bright blue eyes and a devlish little grin, oh yeah, and he has CF. Guest guest
i don't know a site but our soon to be 3 year old with CF is amazing she remembers stuff from movies can sing almost any song played on the radio. It cracks everybody up at how smart she actually is. Guest guest
Don't know of any studies, but my 15 year old postulates that all the extra oxygen to the brain from postural drainage twice a day makes him smarter! Guest guest
--I don,t know if having cf has anything to do with IQ 17 wcf plays 8 different insturments, but I think she would have been able to play them anyway. - In cfparents@y..., jacesjoggers@a... wrote: > Hi , > > Yep, I sure do agree with you about God giving the kids a special gift. > sings with country songs, especially likes Toby , " I Wanna Talk > About Me " , he amazes us at how he remembers his treatment things, asks, " time > for my treatment yet? Guest guest
I don't know that CF kids are any smarter, inherently. What I think happens is that the unusual level of discipline these kids have to develop to do their treatments and take their medicines every day, translates into other areas of their lives - such as school work. Possibly, they have a sense of the importance of things as well, so they pay attention to the small stuff that goes on around them. Regardless of why they seem smarter, it is hard to deny that kids wcf are well represented in the gifted and talented set. C Mommy to Mick and Alli, 2 yo twins wcf, who, though delayed due to prematurity and oral aversion, are amazingly bright, with a talent for getting their way with mommy and wrapping daddy around their little fingers. Guest guest
I feel CF makes them more mature than other children their own age. They have so much to go through before others even start their day. I also feel Maureen does so well in school because it is something she knows she has full control over. (I am sure Rosemary would agree with me since our daughters are the same age.) I think when Maureen does well in school it is something that boost her self-esteem. I know she loves the feeling of praise and superiority. Meg Mom of 3 11yowcf & Crohn's, 6.5ywocf & 1yowcf & GERD

Guest guest
Yep, personalities are wonderful in these kids. Guest guest
I think the CF children are not only more intelligent but have so much brighter personalities.. I wonder if it is due to the extra attention they receive while in hospital etc??? Who knows why, but it's definitely true!
