Guest guest
Hi, Our daughter (almost 3, on keto since Mar '04) suddenly started crying a lot since yesterday. Upon testing, it was just found that she has blood in her urine, a sign that she might have kidney stones. Our neuro has been saying that there is a possibility of getting kidney stones while being on the diet. Could you please tell us if your children had kidney stones / blood in the urine while being on the diet, and if so, what was done for this. Thanks a lot! Guest guest
We had that. We gave my son an ultrasound which revealed that he had kidney " gravel " but not stones. We had to really flush him with fliuds...drink, drink, drink. We also have him on something called Cytra-K, there's also Bicitra and Polycitra. They help lessen acidity, and in our son's case, it eliminated the blood/stones issue. Ask your neuro or keto team. Guest guest
Hi Barb, Thank you very much for your response. We spent all morning at Ped's office and gave them the urine sample. They will do the culture (today's ped, not her usual one thinks she might have infection) while her neuro suspects that she could always have the kedney stones. Anyway, by Monday or Tuesday, we expect to find out what the micro test and the culture reveals. She is overall happy, but there are times, she is obviously in pain. Thanks again for your response.
