Guest guest
I had the same problem with weakness and feeling tired while on the liquid part of the diet. In order to function I had to begin eating the soft foods as soon as it was safe to do so ( I had mashed potatoes at about 12 days post op). Until then, Dr. R. recommended chicken noodle soup and crackers in small amounts. This seemed to help me perk up since my body salt level was getting back to normal and I was rehydrating. I also supplemented with Gatorade. I have not used the whey protein optional supplement at all. I am nine weeks post op and have had no problems digesting meats, beans, eggs, or cheese since I began to gradually reintroduce them in my diet. I'm not good with powdered supplements, and once I determined that protein intake was not going to be a problem in my regular diet, I haven't worried about the whey supplement. Hope you're feeling full of energy soon! Cheryl in Tennessee
