Guest guest
We live in TX and are currently on one of the HMO Medicaid's, Amerigroup. Apparently medical issues doesn't make a difference, it's just financial qualifications. I've heard others talk about waivers in other states, does anyone know if that is available in TX? I asked the person at the TX Dept of Human Svcs that I spoke to this morning, and he either didn't know, or it doesn't apply. Thanks Re: Keto diet via G-tube.... Yahoo! In GA it is called a deeming waiver. There are no financial guidlines so much as medical criteria. Keto diet via G-tube.... help My son recieved his mic-key button and started the keto diet in July of this year. He is now 22 mths old. Our insurance has denied his RCF formula and I'm blue in the face fighting with them over it. We also got Medicaid as a secondary ins. in July. They have been paying for the RCF. We just found out that we are no longer eligible for Medicaid after 12/31. We can't afford the RCF as we are already struggling. My question: Are there other kids who are strictly tube fed that use anything other than the RCF while on the keto diet? Can baby food and cream or anything else be combined for feedings? Is this hard? Thanks for any suggestions - I really need them. " The Ketogenic Diet....a realistic treatment option, NOT just a last resort! " List is for parent to parent support only. Guest guest
The disability medicaids are unfortunately not Federal. The best place to find out about your state is through your service coordinator if your child is in an early intervention program or your child's doctors. Good Luck! Guest guest
Do you have a social worker? I would try your hospital and asking for the social workers. I too was denied for medicade by there was like you mentioned a waiver program that did not take income into consideration but there was a waiting list. It covered everything the insurance did not, like nursing care at home for example, or the RCF. The social workers are usually up on the different programs for there state. If you don't get the right answer from one worker, I would ask for antother. shelly Re: Keto diet via G-tube.... Yahoo! Groups Survey Please help us to improve Yahoo! Groups.
