REVELATIONS IN A DREAM In a dream, I sat in the rubble and ashes of a dumping ground. The air around me was thick with the stinking smoke...... and the anguished cries of the Discarded children..... As their parents drove them up to the edge of the pit, Then shoved them out, to tumble into the filth...... Then sped away without a backward glance. These children were ragged, dirty, starved. and some...beyond hope.... Too Damaged...I could tell. Yet, they fought for survival in their Broken Hearts, and Burned out souls. Some had the spark of hatred and Betrayal..... The yearning for revenge.... And I thought......God help those who dared get in their way! As they struggled and fought for survival! I sat at one end of a long receiving table In the midst of the Dumping Ground for discarded children. It was covered with dust, ashes, and filth. I felt overwhelmed with Pain, helplessness, and Panic. There were so many......yet the cars, trucks, and vans kept coming....and the discarded children Kept tumbling into the Pit. I could only bear brief glances at them through My own tears..... At one point I looked up and seemed to see My Daddy..... Sitting at the other end of the long table...... So far away......he sat with his bald head with the gray fringe.... Lowered into his hands covering his face......... His elbows resting on the table.... I cried out to him, "Daddy...what am I to do?"..... "How can I save them......There are too many?" Slowly he raised his head and gazed in my direction with his cataract clouded eyes. I knew he couldn't see me , but had somehow found the strength to raise his head to give me the only answer he had....... Nothing......."No Hope" ......his blank face seemed to say to me. Then he slowly lowered his face back into his hands....... Then he slowly disappeared back into the stinking haze that hung over the Pit of Discarded Children. As The Discarded ones continued to wail....and fight.....and struggle around me.....My tears fell onto the dust of the wooden table. Where the tears fell.....I began to wipe them away.....to reveal the polished wood...... The gift from Nature.......I now had something to Focus on To draw strength from! I started to clean , and Polish, and chant to the wood itself! The gift from Nature, praising it's strength and beauty..... Thanking it for being there as a Focal Point. As I chanted and polished, and drew into myself Hope and Courage...... I became aware that that the Discarded Children Had become quiet and still. I looked up to see all their little faces...turned to me in Wonder! As I gazed back at them in the silence....... I saw some FIERCE EYES......I saw some HOPELESS EYES......I saw some BLANK EYES. I feared that some of these Children would not survive ! BUT....In some I saw a SILENT STRENGTH that hadn't been there before And a SPARK OF HOPE......A KNOWING ......if you will. In the exchange of glances between us.....some of them turned away to resume their fighting among themselves..... Yet some still gazed at me with expectancy....waiting.... With that Spark still in their eyes. I resumed my chanting, and polishing the table.....and some of the Children inched closer to see what I could see in polished wood.... I began too look around for the old friends that I had turned to for comfort in my own Discarded Childhood.. The tall trees that I could climb and be rocked in the swaying branches that took the place of a Mothers Arms. The Gentle breezes that dried my tears......... The Beautiful puffy clouds that told me stories in pictures as they floated by and changed into wonderful Angels.....Unicorns......Horses.... The Warm Sun....that warmed my Heart. I saw them in the distance....and began climbing out of The Pit of Discarded Children. ....and walking toward them still chanting to my old friends. As I looked back......I saw some of the children climbing up and following me...... To my surprise .....the older.....Fiercest ones were helping the smallest, Most Fragile ones...the babies in swaddling clothes......the Little boy who could do nothing but lie curled in a fetal position with blank eyes and his thumb in his mouth was being carried by A Wild Eyed Girl with bared teeth.....daring anyone to get it her way...... Yet she was tenderly holding him in her arms! Somehow I felt that if I could introduce them to the healing forces of Beauty and Nature....They could be saved....... As we trekked along .....Beautiful White Doves began to accompany us...... And Butterflies of every color floated around us brushing us with Their Butterfly Kisses............ Thus the Dream Ended.......And I know that those Discarded Children survived.......
