Guest guest Posted March 4, 2004 Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Hi Everyone, I have a question about metho.I have uctd with high suspicion of lupus. I had positive ana and sed rate, positive crp but no blood markers yet. I started metho 3 weeks ago, 5 tablets once a week. The first week, I didn't feel much different. The second week, I was a little tired. The third week, major fatigue, major joint and muscle pain, swollen face. I don't know if it is a flare or side effects. I have put off 3 days just not wanting to have to get ready to go and drive to the pharmacy to pick up meds. Hubby gets home too late to go. I have appt. with rheumy and instructions to get bloodwork before next appt which is next week. I just figured it was side effects. I should also tell you that I take plaquenil twice a day and prednisone 5 mg. every other day. My question is, how long did it take you to get rid of these side effects and for the methotrexate to kick in and work? I was just reading some of the side effects of methotrexate and I don't see where it lists some of the effects you are having.
