Hempseed Oil - Maybe a Good Alternative to Fish Oil?

Hi everyone, I've noticed quite a few posts lately on fish oils and

Omega 3s etc, so thought I'd post on hempseed oil. I know it's not

available world-wide, but if you can get it, I believe it's had a

much bigger impact on Francesca than the Eye Q fish oil we've been

giving her for a couple of years now.

I discovered it through reading Fats that Heal Fats that Kill by Udo

Erasmus - great book - full of useful info for keto families I

think! If we have to fill our kids with fat, it may as well be

healthy and I genuinely believe that Francesca's diet is the

healthiest in our family now, due to eating muffins for breakfast

(made from ground nuts), salads for lunch, and a variety of

vegetables gently fried in coconut oil for tea (mushrooms and

aubergine/eggplant being hot favourites for absorbing oil!). Fruits

are limited, but berries are very nutritious and low carb, as well

as rhubarb which is great for constipation!

Anyway, hempseed oil is apparently the best naturally balanced oil

in terms of Omega 3 and 6 and it seems quite extraordinary, but we

have truly, truly had some amazing improvements in Francesca's

communication since I started using it and I just can't see what

else has changed.

For example, a few weeks ago, when she woke up on the weekend, she

came into our room and responded immediately to my good morning,

replied fine thank you when I asked how she was and then said I'll

get your dressing gown for you, can we watch TV? Previously, she

would not have said a word, neither spontaneously, nor in response.

She would probably have come to me and tried to pull me out of bed

to go and watch TV (our Saturday morning ritual is to watch Art

Attack before breakfast!). When she arrives at school now, as soon

as she sees her SNA, she says " good morning " - no

prompting at all - and hearing her use somebody's name in that way

is truly unbelievable. She now uses names regularly, which is very

new. The school staff, and even children, have noticed the change.

Re calculating hemp oil, I use it in place of olive oil. It is 100g

fat per 100g, so directly interchangeable with olive oil.

The taste, by the way, is nutty, stronger than olive oil, but

pleasant. It is not as strong a flavour as flax oil.

Definitely worth a try, I reckon - it's cheaper than speech therapy!

I thought that coconut oil is one of the absolute worst oils available.

Please enlighten me.

That is great news. I have also read through a lot of Fats that heal

and fats hat kill book and now live my life in accord with the book. I

had our son on Udo's oil, while he was alive and I also saw improvements

with his ability to respond and comprehend. I wish I had of supplemented

the oil in his diet sooner, but we live and learn and what ever disease

he had over look him. I hope that our next child is not sick but if so,

I will have so much knowledge.
