Guest guest
I just serve it straight out the pan like an omelette , and because I have never offered flavorings/sauces etc to I guess he doesn't realise what he is missing He went thru a phase of wanting diced bacon mixed in though, so I just cut the egg/oil amount to balance out the bacon protein/fat, but he got sick of that for some reason - mebbe it was too salty for him, not sure... When we were overseas recently to give him a 'treat' I made it a ham and cheese omelette, grated cheese and diced ham mixed into the egg/cream/oil mixture. I have tried a few bites of all the variations meself, and I can't say as I could eat it day after day...but he hasn't refused it so far, well except for when he was too ketotic/acidic and would hardly eat anything earlier this yr. When that was happening, I mixed the banana into the mixture to make a banana pancake, so that is was an 'all in one' meal like an eggnog, which meant if he didn't eat it all, he was at least getting the right ratio. Now and then he has had some low carb sausage with ice cream for breakfast or dinner - lol, I know, but he likes it.... Or again, when he wasn't eating much earlier this yr we gave him some all in one cream/eggnog drinks with pureed fruit in to bring up the carb value. isn't particularly interested in food either, hasn't been since he has been on the topomax/diet combo this yr, but he will still eat it all at every meal, basically cos he knows he has to in order to 'keep the drops away', sometimes with coaxing, sometimes without. Over 3 yrs down the track with keto I guess it's just a way of life for him now, he's been on a special diet for nearly as long now as not in his lifetime. Ugh, sounds a lot when I look at it that way.... ----- Original Message ----- Dear On that breakfast pancake, do you put butter and flavoring on top as a syrup, or just serve it as it comes out of the pan, like an omellette? I am looking for some breakfast alternatives, and might be interested in a " pancake. " And sliced apple would be favorite side of carbs for her... Now on higher ketones she really isn't interested in food much, so whatever it is usually gets the same response - very little. Thanks for the idea........
