Hi , the chiro tx went well. It was like only five minutes, he

told me it would only take about five minutes. Kristan didn't even

cry or squirm or try to get away like she usually does when being

examined by doctors. The chiro was amazed too, he said most kids

don't like to be touched. I had warned him how strong she is and is

hard to get a hold of, but she was so well behaved. First he just

let her relax and then he said to let hear this rod with a soft tip

that he would be using to do the alignment so she wouldn't be

afraid. He did some adjustments on her neck and along her spine and

wants us to come back three times a week for now. Time will tell if

this helps her. We go back again on Monday.

If you are thinking of trying the chiro, I don't think you have

anything to lose, give it a try if you feel comfortable with it.

Just talk to one first. Kristan's only had the one treatment, but I

am glad that we are trying it.

We are also trying to videotape Kristan having a seizure, so the tape

can be sent to another doctor in Toronto for a second opinion, but

her seizures are just coming out of nowhere and we can't predict like

in the past when she is going to have one. We'll get one eventually.

Kristan is getting back to her old self again, after the pneumonia,

she's attempting to roll again, which she hasn't done for weeks and

is taking her bottle again.

is really blessed to have you as her mother. I can only imagine

what she was like when she came to you.

It's hard when they are up at night, been there many times. Glad to

hear the seizures are coming down.

Wow! I am anxious to hear how it all goes. Sounds like he must be good with

Kristan, if she was so relaxed. Children can sense how folks feel about them, I

believe.

only had one seizure last night and slept about five hours, then dozed and

moved around the rest of the night. It was a better night.

She went outside in the snow today... didn't do much (she is tired and worn

out), but loves the snow and walked around a bit, and up the hill, where sister

Martha was crazily sledding down, standing up. Need to get Martha some cross

country skis this year. was all bundled up, and this is our first

" staying " snow, so the girls wanted to be out in it. walks around okay in

boots and all the other clothes. When I think she never sat on her own until

over a year...didn't walk until way over two years, it is pretty great she does

so well. Once they get going, I think they gain momentum, developmentally.

Of course, cocoa is the treat afterwards, and she couldn't have any. Herbal tea

seemed to suit, as on high ketones she doesn't care if she eats or not.

Keep posting on the chiro treatments. I hope Kristan doesn't have a hard time

on lower ratios like did. My they were nasty weeks. She has so settled on

the higher ratio, even with the seizures. I guess those who have weaned are no

longer on the list, except for , to share if this is normal or not. Of

course, who knows what is " normal " anymore??!!

Have a great weekend. Kristan should be relaxed for it, and it will be

interesting to see what you note in changes... Hugs... .

Hi , hope all is well and that had a good weekend playing

in the snow and is getting used to the higher ratio.

When you mentioned that didn't sit until over a year old and

walk until over two years old, I couldn't remember how many seizures

a day she was having before keto. I often wonder if Kristan will be

able to walk, I do believe she will one day and know that we have a

lot of work ahead of us to get there. She is sitting independently

now and did that at 19 months of age. I know they do make little

developmental gains even with the seizures.

Kristan had another chiro appointment yesterday and we go back

tomorrow. She was a bit fussy, but I let her look out the window

which distracts her. Still too soon to tell if the treatment will be

beneficial, but her screaming seizures have stopped and when she has

napped it's been seizure free, could be a coincidence or it could be

the chiro treatment. I mentioned to Kristan's physiotherapist that

we are taking her to the chiro and she gave me this look of terror

and said that she doesn't like to treat kids who are seeing a chiro

b/c then you don't know what is helping them improve. I told her the

chiro is to help with the seizures, not with her range of motion and

movement. She let it go for now as she is off for Christmas now, but

I regret telling her now. She is a great physiotherapist and has

brought Kristan a long way. If she brings it up when she sees

Kristan in January, then I am just going to tell her we tried the

chiro for a month and stopped, but we are not stopping, we figure we

will keep at it for 3 months or so. Why would she be so bothered by

the chiro? It really bothered me that she reacted that way. I

didn't argue with her.
