Guest guest
I was trying to find some info on B6 use with keppra to help offset behavioural side effects of the med for someone who is not on the list - was on keppra when he was put on the B6? Or was it a 'in case he has a deficiency that might be leading to his seizures' scenario? was trialled on it for this purpose, but I can't remember the dose he got to - they did an IV push with EEG guidance then followed up with a 2 week long oral dose in his case, ditched it after that as we didn't see any improvement. And how is - all staus quo at the mo apart from the posisble oils trial? Carnitine staying as is? ----- Original Message ----- From: michelle paulson Hi Barb- Must have missed this message first time around - at any rate - yes - starting B6 at 50mg. sounds OK - though my son started his B6 supplement at 100mg (50mg. am and pm). now takes 200mg. and even has room to go if we should want to increase. started B6 when he was 18mo. Hope this helps! Guest guest
We've tried it, 50 mg twice per day but haven't seen any help with the behavoiur. Neuor didn't want us going any higher than that , 's mom & Hill wrote: > I was trying to find some info on B6 use with keppra to help offset > behavioural side effects of the med for someone who is not on the list > - was on keppra when he was put on the B6? Guest guest
Butting in here...did your neuro team say why they didn't want you to go any higher on the B6? Because B6 has been used for at least a few years at really high doses ( like 500mg per day or even 2x a day) to treat infantile spasms and other types of seizures. I just can't imagine what there concern is there. Just a thought , mom to Ethan Re: Barb/B6/ We've tried it, 50 mg twice per day but haven't seen any help with the behavoiur. Guest guest
Yeah, I was actually thinking about that as I wrote it. His concern was neurological symptoms at higher doses. He is suppose to call me tonight aboout something else, I should ask him about that Atyeo wrote: > Butting in here...did your neuro team say why they didn't want you to > go > any higher on the B6? Guest guest
I find there reply strange, could you ask for some evidence like case studies or something? shelly Re: Barb/B6/ > > > > We've tried it, 50 mg twice per day but haven't seen any help with the > > behavoiur.
