Guest guest
There is only 1 sure thing I know about the FF at McD's, if you ask 100 people if they are safe.. 50 will say yes and 50 will say no. I think after reading the disclaimer on McD's web page about them, you need to make the choice for yourself. I personally don't let my kids eat them but only because there isn't really anything else there anyway so we don't even stop unless its for a sundae. I have been under the impression the Mc's Fries are GF, but I have just read otherwise. HELP! We have been letting out 4 year old eat them. Guest guest
This is one of those things that started shortly after the new labeling law came into effect. The fries are safe, have no fear. The oil they are pre-cooked in has wheat derivatives in it, but the oil and the fries have both been tested by the Allergy Center in Nebraska and they are fine. Eat away!! ;-) From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ] On Behalf Of Sent: Friday, September 22, 2006 8:30 AMTo: SillyYaks Subject: Are Mcs French Fries Gluten Free? Guest guest
There was a scare earlier this year about them (one of the initial flavors had some) but in the final process it is eliminated. Mcs has had them lab tested. And TONS of sensitive Celiacs had eaten them no problem. --- karen_h@...> wrote: > I have been under the impression the Mc's > Fries are GF, but I have just read > otherwise. HELP! Guest guest
Some Mc's locations appear to have some cross-contamination problems, just like any other restaurant. We cannot eat the ones at the Mc's closest to us. I made the mistake of insisting to my son that they were gluten free, even though he suspected them as the cause of his reaction. We have pinpointed them to be the probable cause. I'm sure it varies by location. Jupiter, FL RE: Are Mcs French Fries Gluten Free? Guest guest
We continued to eat at Mc's after the original debate - and did okay 50% of the time. Also dependent on which Mc's. However, the last time we went - my 8 year old daughter threw up - and had severe explosive diarrhea x 3 before we even left the Mcs. We had to leave naked because it was all over everything. She has not asked to go again.
