Hi Michal,

> My son has not an ear infection or strep throat in so long and

ofcourse over the weekend, he got a pretty bad ear infection. ... he

had two small pee accidents. .....and pretty out of it. I know I

have to finish the antibiotic (omnicef)

People have reported peeing accidents when they are going through

die off. Antibiotics will cause die off also. This may also

explain why he seems " out of it " . Epsom salt baths may help if it is

antiobic induced die off.

Are you using any of the yogurt or probiotic? If yes, make sure you

take it seperately from the antibiotic. About 2 hours before and/or

after. Some good bacteria may help protect his GI tract. (Some

doctors now advise patients to eat yogurt or take probiotics when

using antibiotics).

Dear Michal:

The artificial colors and flavors in the antibiotics could have caused it.

There is a high concentration in medications and the Food & Drug allows certain

artificial colors to be added to medications that are not allowed to be added to

food. The Feingold program materials states that artificial colors and flavors

causes daytime incontinence in some children. Next time you can ask you

pharmacist if there is a local pharmacist who can make the medication in the

pharmacy and leave out the artificial colors. Good Luck, Eileen
