hi lynn. im going through the same thing. at my 3 month he showd me my b4 and

after mri and said the chiari was fixed. i have good flow now but because of

the crowding b4 surgery and how long it took to dx he said i prob had some

nerve damage. he told me to try and increas my activity and that might help

the nerves heal. he also said it can take up to a year before the numbness

goes away. i still have numbness in arms and legs when i sit upright..go

figure. i am seeing my pcp who has ordered another emg on my nerves so well

see. i hope this helps. good luck

kim

p.s. he also advised taking the b vitamins. they are suppsoed to help the

nerves.

Hi Lyn,

Vicki has really bad bouts of this too.The pain clinic

and GP have put Vicki on a muscle relaxant.Apparently

the rsd causes the muscles to loose circulation by

constrinting them.By keeping the muscles relaxed it

lessons the effect.Thats why a shower helps it eases

the tension.I,m sure the others in the group have told

you the same thing.

In new Zealand there is a product called norflex there

is the same meds overseas.
