Here is one of the notices I was sent, and at the bottom I have also put a link for you if you want to read up on this E Mail Virus. There IS a fix for this :-) Netsky Virus Clogging E-Mail Systems, Making Beeps An e-mail virus known as Netsky.d appeared Monday, clogging e-mail servers and making computers make weird noises as it spread itself. Antivirus firm McAfee said the worm -- like previous outbreaks such as Mydoom -- spreads by emailing itself to addresses found on infected machines. WHAT IS IT? How Viruses, Worms Work PERSONAL VIRUS PROTECTION Novarg/MyDoom removal instructions Latest Microsoft patches Xombe information Free Microsoft Blaster Patch SoBig.F Removal Tool GENERAL PROTECTION Sign Up For Cyber Alerts Download Virus Definitions Other Virus Removal Tools Securities Update Vault REMEMBER: Don't open e-mail attachments that end in .vbs, .pif or other unfamiliar extensions. Even if the e-mail appears to come from a trusted source, it could be someone " spoofing " an address. Confirm it's from who you think it's from before you open. The firm also said that many of the samples it has seen come not from the e-mail account it says it's from, but are messages with " spoofed " addresses taken from infected computers. When it infects a machine, Netsky.d tries to copy itself to all drives on a system. It also attempts to disable the previously noted Mydoom.a and Mydoom.b worms. It can cause a computer to make random beeping sounds with varying pitches and rhythm. Netsky.d uses innocuous-sounding subject lines to trick users into opening e-mail and opening the attached .pif file. Some of the subject lines noted include: Re: Hi Hello Thanks!
