Guest guest
Evening all, Went to orthopediac surgeon today to review my MRI of my knee. (Was told last week due to the steroid use, lupus, and sjogren's I had Osteonecrosis in the knee) Well the MRI was nasty looking, and I knew it was not good news when the Dr walked in. (This is one of the nicest docs out there) He walked up to me, placed MRI's on the screen for Mike and I to look at and he pointed out all the problems and how huge they are. OMG!!! Due to my age (34) and all my health issues he says my insurance will fight him on a total knee replacement and that I pretty much have to wait for it to crumble to pieces in order for me to get a total knee replacement. He felt so bad for me, he knows Im allergic to almost every major narcotic out there, and he knows everyhing I have been going thru and knows I can't take NASIDS either. So I came home and called insurance company and sure enough due to my age - they will NOT approve of it. I am so upset, I mean it is not like I wanted this surgery to begin with, but to be denied it due to my age - once again because of my age I get screwed! Mike and I are so use to disappointment and always knowing when I leave a doctor's appointment I usually don't get good news. What can go wrong usually does with me. =( I go see dermatologist tomorrow morning - I have literally dug layers of my skin off from itching all over my body - Nothing works to relieve the itch - I mean u name it I have tried it, even the perscription doc gave me for it in the past. Haven't made any changes as in laundry detergent, soap, etc and my meds are all the same - I even took myself off all my meds to see if it was any of them and nope - notta.... I feel like hell without them, and had Mike give me my methotrexate shot at 0.9 instead of 0.7 (I can dose myself as I know my body can handle it - use to be on 0.9 a while back and was working back up to it, and it makes a big difference) I don't even need to take the Leucovorin the rhuemy scribs for it cuz I dont get any bad effects from it. Hopefully derm will be able to solve my itching prob tomorrow. So I don't know if I will be around the next couple of days due to the depression about the knee hitting me big time. Oh I have to go get an ultrasound of my lungs Thursday to see why my lungs fill up when I try to lay down. Can u say DUH!!! All I wanted was a CT scan of my chest and lungs, not a stupid ultrasound that isnt going to show chit!!! Reg. chest xrays dont show any changes but I told doc Im fine when I sit up or stand. UGGG one day someone will listen to me. Ok have blabbered on long enough. Good luck everyone, and know your all in my thoughts and prayers...
