Guest guest
Hi , I hope you were able to stay out of the hospital. I feel so bad for you! On one hand I do dread being in the hospital, but on the other I know if I do I will start to feel better after a few days. I just got home yesterday (Fri), and while I was in the hospital my doc ordered I could have the demeral 50mg every 2-3 hrs as needed. Most of the time I wasn't asking for it that often, but our good friend Lily called me & told me I should ask for it, if thats how it is written, that way it would get the pain under control sooner. And I did. I was so happy to be home! My twins were passed off from one place to another all week. They are so happy to have me home! So happy that they are both sleeping in my room tonight! My oldest, Amy, spend the week with her best friend, so she was OK. I felt so awful for those twins! Anyways, I hope you are doing better by now. Thanks for your kindness. Please, let me know whats happening, if you have already, please forgive me. I have about a zillion messages to go through! Thanks again, friend. Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear LInda I myself have had a pretty hard time with the nausea and pain lately. My doctor told me today he is going to give me lots of samples of a new enzyme pill to try.. Dont know the name yet. Hopefully it will help but the last 2 I tried did nothing. May have to go to hospital soon which like you I dread. Tomorrow can only be better.
Guest guest
Dear I was in the hospital from Wednesday to today Sunday. The pain got out of control and I hadnt been able to eat lately. I am some better today a little thinner of course. One thing about this disease I look body wise like I did when I was a teenager. If one more person tells me how lucky I am to be slim I will hit them. As always I was treated well at the hospital, my family doctor calls ahead for me and speaks to the internest on call and explains about me. I get admitted and the same gastro. specialst that I see comes and sees me at the hospital and monitors my care. I am lucky to have such a caring family doctor. I thank God for him every day. Hope you are feeling better.
Guest guest
Dear , I'm sorry, I wish I had known you were in the hospital too. We were there at the same time, only my doc kicked me out after 3 days. Thats ok because I would much rather lay in my bed then those hospital beds ~ anyday! I'm so happy to hear they take such wonderful care of you. You are so lucky! And about the slim thing, I can't say I know what you mean, because for some reason I just don't have that slimness that most get. For the longest time I thought I was the only one who was " fluffy " (as E says) until I found this board. I have lost about 20lbs. since my divorce, but my mom says its from eating my own cookin', since Dave did most of the cooking for 21 yrs. Mom thinks she is so funny! I hope you are feeling so much better. Its pure hell when that pain level gets too far out of control. My doc started me on the duragesic patch, I'm still having some pretty bad headaches & I'm very nauseated still. Don't know if it is the patch, or the ole' pancreas. Hang in there kid & feel better soon. Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear I was in the hospital from Wednesday to today Sunday. Guest guest
Dear thank you for your kind words. I tried the patches for pain but was allergic to them and broke out in hives. I am pretty well stuck with demerol for pain relief. Hope you are feeling better.

Guest guest
Hey , I'm having about as good luck with these patches are you are! I still have a hard time understanding how something work so wonderful for some but not others. I called my doc this AM & she switched me back to MS Contin & Morphine instant release. The only thing with that is when I'm feeling really bad it makes me alot more nauseated then on a " normal " day......is there really such a thing as " normal days " ? Sometimes I wonder..........I do feel some better. Only I'm running a fever tonight. Its been playing tag between 101 & 102. But nothing really hurts, like out of control huring. So, I'm not real sure where the fever is coming from. Please, rest up & I hope you are able to tolerate the demerol well. You've been on it for awhile, right? Let me know how you are feeling later today, ok? Thanks friend! Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear thank you for your kind words. Guest guest
Dear I have been taking demerol for 6 years for this disease. The only thing it does is lower the pain somewhat. I have been lucky that it doesnt make me nauseated or spacey. I am sorry the patches didnt work for you, other people seem to find they work well for them. I guess its different strokes for different folks. This is the first time that staying in hospital for 4 days didnt help much. I got the lecture from my doctor today about trying to at least have some soup. Homemade of course he doesnt like the canned kind too many additives too much salt. So I made up a batch today and we will see how that goes.
