Hi,

Just wondering why the birth control pill would be considered bad for people

with chiari. I'm menopausal and on an estrogen/progesterone patch and the

leveling of my hormones has seemed to help me with imbalance....

any thoughts?

Hi Jane, I'm very new to this so can only tell my experience,I tried

HRT patches for 2 months and felt awful, I ended up having

pseudo-hypoglycaemic episodes twice a week (this is the best way I can

describe the symptoms I had), after I stopped using the patches the

symptoms dissipated but then I'd had similar problems when I tried

using birth control pills when I was (much) younger. For me it seems

to be the progesterone part that causes problems (the patches I used

were 4 oestrogen followed by 4 oestrogen & progesterone combined),

also all my symptoms get worse just before and during the start of a

period.....
