Guest guest
Hello everyone; This is Krmpotich (J.D's) wife. J.D. has recently had hernia surgery to repair a hernia that developed after the take done of his ostomey. He is having a more difficult time recovering from this surgery (lots of pain) the he had with previous surgeries prior to PSC. Just wondering if this could be a reason? He is at stage 3. Guest guest
Just like PSC affects everybody differently...so does hernia surgery and recovery. My husband is still having discomfort from his hernia surgery. It really depends on the extent of the surgery...and I am positive that general health will also factor into the recovery time. Guest guest
Which type of hernia did JD have and what was the technique? I had surgery in January for an inguinal hernia and I'm pretty healthy (my wife is the one with PSC and transplant). The first week was horrible and the second week was only marginally better. If he had non-laparoscopic surgery (as I did), they're cutting through the abdominal muscle, In JD's casr, he's had several surgeries in that general area and I might expect his recovery to be a little slower. Guest guest
J.D. Had a incisional hernia from the ostoemy take down in 2000. He has had it for a while but it stated giving him trouble when he rolled in bed and such. It was the size of a grape fruit. He is home now and besides the pain and being worn out when he walks. Thanks for the information Re: Question of surgerys and complications Which type of hernia did JD have and what was the technique?
