Finally, today, after 6 years of working toward this goal, I am on medicare/disability. It is amazing that it took this long but it has finally happened and I know that my husband who has worked through all the paperwork and jumped through all the hoops medicare/social security requires is very happy. The road to this day might have been shorter if our house hadn't burned down in 02. We had all the information on my husbands desk ready to send and then had to start over. Thankfully now maybe most of my medical bills will be covered and the stress of making the $700/month health insurance premium payment will become a distant memory. I write this to those of you starting this process or thinking about it that there is hope and that it really can happen! Blessings, Barby - KS
