Totally true ..

psychosis .. heart arrythmias .. breathing problems ..

all can hit you if you have been taking prednisone for more than a

month and then stop taking prednisone without tapering down.

Back in 1985, a doc in a box (CIGNA) prescribed 80 mg of prednisone

for 6 weeks .. then stopped me cold turkey.

I didnt know better .. first time I had been on such a high dose for

such a long time.

Two days after stopping the prednisone I was in the ER with heart

arrythmias and hallucinations.. it was awful!!

Right now ..

I am at 60 mg a day ... and I hate it ..

but my lungs are full of fluid again and I have pneumonia .. again ..

I am the " Queen of Pneumonia "

so ..

back on the high dose of prednisone ..

(I will be nutso by next week .. lol)

this will be a long taper as well ..

60 mg for 2 weeks .. then down by 5 mg every 5 days ..

man .. I hope I dont gain all that weight back .. again ..

I feel like a yo-yo ..
