Hi everyone! I'm going to condense my messages into one because so

much is going on...

1. Hi and welcome all new folks! Congrats on setting goals to be

healthy. We're glad you're here.

2. Step aerobics.... let me tell ya. Well, I posted yesterday how I

took my first class (exercising in front of people *and* mirrors for

the first time in over eight years) on Monday, right? I took the 1:30

class again yesterday. Ouch. We did a cardio warmup... okay, I'm

fine, I'm groovin', and then start a step combo. Amazing how the

steps come back to you... huff puff.... oh my GOODNESS this is HARD!

After the first step combo (about 8 minutes), I thought I was going

to be sick. I really tried too hard. The teacher did a few short

circuits and then back to the step. This time, I did most of the

combos on the floor, but at least I kept moving. I (barely) made it

through the class, then just about fell over. Step is really hard --

I forgot how hard it is. Yikes.

3. I have a new goal. I have decided... drum roll please ... to

participate in the Avon 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago. The

walk takes place August 27th-29th this year, and they anticipate as

many as 4,000 walkers this route. I have never done anything quite

like this before. You actually walk 60 miles in three days, and camp

out at night. Each walker has to raise a minimum of $2,000. I spoke

with the fitness director here, and she's going to help me put a team

together.

If you feel like supporting me, I would love it. Your encouragement

will do a lot for me -- it would be like walking for a whole

community. Even better, if you can donate, please let me know. As

soon as I have my 3-Day web site up, I'll post it here. I'll be

walking for both my grandmothers who had it (one surviving), my

mother who I pray never gets it, my husband's cousin who is losing

the battle, and for my kids, whose lives I pray are never touched by

it. And for myself, because I've never set a goal like this, and I'm

really encouraged.

Sorry for the long post... so much is going on!

Love to all,

JT
