Guest guest Posted June 20, 2002 Report Share Posted June 20, 2002 In terms washing your hair post op, my husband bought this wonderful no rinse shampoo that you can just pour into a spray bottle and spritz on your hair - then just rub it out with a towel. When I had my first surgery I had long hair and I couldn't stand not having it washed - so he painstakingly washed it section by section for me. When it came to the second surgery, we decided that there had to be a better way. We found this at a Sally Beauty Supply store and its simply named " No Rinse Shampoo " - it's in the section where they keep stuff for the elder/infirmed folks - it's good stuff. In terms of hats, I found that Walmart has inexpensive summer hats ($3-5 each) in a variety of colors. I'm not a hat person, but these worked out fine for a temporary solution. After a while, I sort of got the attitude that I didn't really care if people saw the incision. I have too many other things to think about.
