Guest guest
Hi All-- I've been a lurker around here almost since my intial diagnosis nearly 10 years ago. I've been blessed with nearly a decade of no symptoms. Until recently, PSC was always something that I would deal with later. Well, later is now. After a summer where I came down with mono and a GI bleed requiring a 9- unit transfusion, along with jaundice and itching out of my skin, it's time for me to start paying attention. So, I've signed up for the conference, and I'm wondering how many others are going. It looks to be a " must attend " event, and even though I'm a tax practitioner and the conference falls the weekend before taxes are due, I'll be there. Who else is going? Guest guest
Hi Tom, I am sorry that you have had to come out of lurk mode because of the progression of your PSC. I will be attending again this year. I have attended the past 2 and they have been such a learning and rewarding experience. The speakers this year are phenomenal and I am looking forwarding to learning so much more. Take care and see you in April! Guest guest
Hi Tom, I'm sorry that you're having PSC symptoms, but I'm glad to hear that you've signed up for the conference. You won't be disappointed....All of us who have attended the past conferences go home feeling as if we've learned so much about PSC and how to deal with it. Even more importantly, we have the warm fuzzy of personally getting to know so many other PSCers who have become a large extended understanding family. Looking forward to meeting you! Guest guest
I plan on being there, hopefully with my sister, otherwise with my lonely old self. Does anyone know how far away the nearest hospital is, just in case? I like to be prepared. Guest guest
I live in the Denver area, and the closest hospital is @ 10 minutes away. There are quite a few other hospital within 20-30 min away too so no shortage of places to go nearby. Guest guest
Hi Corrie, I'm glad to hear that you'll be coming to the conference. The University of Colorado Health Sciences hospital is only 15 minutes away from the conference hotel. The hepatologists from UCHSC will be speaking at the conference, and they will be available for emergencies, so don't worry!! Looking forward to meeting you.
