Guest guest
Hi Lane, It is not uncommon. How were bm's preSCD? Guest guest
Hi I had the same problem with my son. I tried the candida diet (beans and whole grains etc first) and there was no improvement. I was giving my son an oily carob rice milk drink every night before bed - now illegal. Now my son is on this diet he is going of his own accord. I have moved ahead on the diet schedule as my son does not have diarrhoia - in fact the opposite and I give him a fresh vegetable juice most days - especially carrot, beetroot, celery, (possibly english spinach - for the anaemia and capsicum for Vit C if they are on hand). They work a treat with more water in the diet! The beetroot is doing most of the work and helping the liver at the same time. My son now goes reliably every day - sometimes even twice rarely 3 times! There are still " balls " amongst them 50% of the time but at least they are better out than in and he is not painfully pushing. We are still in the early stages of the diet. Make sure the root veggies especially beetroot are organic due to potential cadmium buildup The dark red/purple poos are to be expected - even for normal people eating beetroot. If this does not work try a tasty smoothy (yogurt, banana, strawberries, honey if you prefer) and add 1-2 tablespoons of good quality olive oil (blend it well and they won't know it) every night as a last resort. Initially you might like to have the larger dose to get it moving and then cut back. Use common sense. Diarrhoia means too much oil, no movement after 2 days may require a larger dose. My son initially had stomach cramps when we started. After we saw his stools and worked out how long it took for the potion to go through his system we altered the dose. Leave a bit of time after the meal to digest - last thing before bed. Apologies if this may not be in the perfect SCD sequence and some may cringe. All are legal foods.
