Guest guest
Don't hate yourself..try and understand your triggers. I am night time eater too and I have kinda had to just re-arange things to get me thru it. I try to leave somethings like laundry and stuff to do at night instead off all early in the day. If I am busy I tend to not think about it. Figure out what your triggers are and then you cna work on changing things to help you get thru it. Rhonda > STUPIDDDDD!!! HOW CAN I... Guest guest
Sad Soul, Just alittle hint: Sometimes eating alot of carbohydrates causes us to want to eat more. You need to start eating better foods so you won't feel like this as much. Right now with the holidays sure there are alot of tempting foods around but you can get this under control if you want and have to. Stick with the group and listen to others struggles. Guest guest
Sad, Late afternoon is when your body is needing more fuel.....eat something everyday, same time, before you get so hungry you binge. If you start feeling hungry around 4:30 then eat a snack at 4, get a jump on your hunger before it turns ravenous. You can also start eating 6 to 8 smaller meals a day with more protein in them...protein is more filling and can stop those cravings for sugar and carbos. Your body will adjust to this and eventually will stop yelling at you to mow down I do the late night thing too and have found that eating popcorn with a large glass of water right before bed fills me up, and sometimes I take an apple or two up to bed to snack on while I watch TV just before going to sleep. This really does help. Can you translate the kg thing to pounds for me? Where are you from? Guest guest
106 can be a very healthy rnge for the right height. How tall are you? That makes a big difference..if you are shorter or taller you weight range will be different. Eating smaller meals more often is better than few big meals. You keep your body fueld all day that way. Carbs are like instant fuel your body will burn them first. The more you weigh and if you are lifting weights or doing any strength training you will want to make sure you are getting enough protein. Your body uses it to rebuild and repair muscle. Too much of anything can be bad for you..doesn't matter what it is. I try to stay in thsi range 50% carbs(eaten mostly before dinner) 30% Protein and 20% fat. When I eat alot of carbs at dinner I can be found grazing in the kitchen at night. Because it is what your body burns first/fastest it is gone quickly and you will start yo feel hungry. Protein is filling as is fiber. On average 100 cals should get you thru 1 hour or abouts.if it is balanced cals split up between carbs/protein/fat. Guest guest
Hi Sad, Eating before sleep is not bad. I suggested an apple or other fruit or popcorn and water, neither of these has fat and are nutritious complex carbo foods, they will not add pounds to you. Now if you eat apple pie or some other simple carbo laden item then yes, it would be bad. In the short term a simple carbo will fill you up, but when your body has processed the sugar you will be left craving more, it is a viscious cycle. Protein will fill you up and will not leave you wanting more, it takes longer for the body to process proteins and hence you are full longer. I have less hunger when I eat higher protein and fats than when I eat simple carbs. It makes a differance what kind of fat you are eating as well. Diabetics are now being instructed to eat the higher protein and fat diets to control their sugar...my dad's doctor put him on the atkins diet and it sure did work. He is on less insulin now and isn't craving any sugar. I have a question for you. How many meals a day are you eating? How many snacks? Are your meals not filling you up and you feel the need to binge? I don't understand if you are eating many meals why you would still feel hungry and binge. A suggestion is to learn about nutrition and speak with your doctor and your parents about this. You are very young and at a stage when dieting can be very harmful to your body. You are still growing and building bone. I am 39 and from the States.
