Guest guest
I think that mineral oil is a strong laxative. You should look at increasing fluids. It might be worthwhile to consider a stool softener as well. Hopefully the fibre and milk of magnesia will have a similar effect to the stool softener. Good luck, Bill Hopper wrote: > > We're wrestling with this right now as well. > Our son would only go every 3 or 4 days, often with the help of > MOM. When he did finally go, it would be very runny. Guest guest
we have been battling this issues recently. We used magnesium and that helped but it did not help get him " unblocked " . We were having the loose stools going around the impaction like wendy described. We have finally got itunder control with miralax but let me tell you that the constipation is the first time has has seizures in 2 years other than infection or extreme cheating on the KGD. You must stay on top of it. He had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday and got a clean bill of health. It has taken about 6 months to get this under control. If we had not done the xrays, we would not have known. had to be taken out of school for 5 weeks to give him high dose miralx to get him unconstipated. It is no fun and Atkins is worse for those of you considering it. We are going back to the KGD soon. I'm actually not dreading it because I know that it works and hope and pray that it works again.
