Hi : )

Just wanted to drop a quick line to introduce myself. My 7 month old was

diagnosed with CF in early November. She's our first child and will probably

be our only. After six weeks in the hospital..she had pseudomonas and another

bacteria..she finally came back home right before Christmas. Growth wise

she's doing great..18 lbs 12 oz...a lil butterball. My husband and I are

still kind of figuring out everything, but the knowledge is slowly

accumulating..we're lucky enough to live near Children's Hosp of Cincy, so

she's getting excellent care. I worked prior to having Piper, but am now

staying at home and absolutely loving it..ironically enough I was laid off

the week before I had her...makes you wonder. At any rate, feel like I'm

rambling on, so will stop for now. I look forward to getting to know you all.

A very BIG welcome to you and your dear family .your wee one sounds

precious. I know you & hubby could just eat her up :):):) I am that way

with them too. I had 5 children . And they gave me 10 grandchildren. All

truly a joy. Our ERIN has CF She is very , very well. She is an athlete

and an honor SENIOR student. She is getting all her " stuff " ready to

pack to go off to college in August too. She hasn't been hospitalized

yet ,nor been on any IV's so far. We will keep our thoughts clearly

aimed so hopefully she will remain this way. She does do the pulmozyme

and the vest treatment . (while doing her homework-computer " stuff " or

watching TV. Also does take enzymes with meals ,that's it .Your wee one

will do well also. YOUR so right Your clinic is super!! Keep us posted

with all your family doings .Ask any questions you'd like .There are so

many here that are great folks & they WANT to help as well. Have a super

weekend

Hi -- my baby should be 7.5 months old (but he's actually 10). He was

premature due

to a meconium ileus blockage that identified the CF. He struggles with weight

gain.

We will have another child but will do IVF to rule out CF. We also live near

the Children's

Hospital in San Diego and I also am now a stay at home mom and loving every

minute.

Welcome! Out of curiosity, what are you feeding your little butterball? We are

on breastmilk

with pregestimil added (along with rice and oil to the bottles).

Welcome, . I am also pretty new to the list. Our daughter, Emma is

almost 4 months and was diagnosed with CF at 2 months old. It is a difficult

time but sure to become easier in the months and years ahead. Emma is a

little slow in the weight gain department but her doctor at Children's Hosp

of Philadelphia is not too concerned. Best of luck to you and your little

girl.
