Guest guest
Hello.I think I probably have the most questions this week! I am looking for a legal toothpaste without flouride. Alot of the healthy alternatives have guar gum, xantham gum & carageenan. I am not looking forward to using plain baking soda, I think it might make my daughter gag. Also is plain stevia allowed? Thanks in advance Lane Mom to Tess ASD & Ethan chronic const. SCD 7 days --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger Show us what our next emoticon should look like. Join the fun. Guest guest
.....Are we supposed to use legal shampoo, deoderant, lotions... etc... everything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our body, like patch technology......???? Guest guest
The word on toothpaste is that small kids who swallow their toothpaste should use baking soda or no toothpaste at all. Adults or kids who know how to spit it out can use whatever brand they want to, as there are no legal toothpaste brands, and the amount consumed is negligeable. Guest guest
" ....Are we supposed to be using special toothepaste? " Only if you swallow the toothpaste. Some of the kids don't know how to keep from swallowing while their teeth are being brushed. So, if that's the case, I think most of the moms are just using water or water/baking soda to brush with. It is mostly the action of brushing the gunk off of our teeth that's important. Jody mom to -6 and -8 SCD 26 months
Guest guest
" ....Are we supposed to use legal shampoo, deoderant, lotions... etc... everything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our body " Well, this is mostly true for the small kids on the list who might be apt to ingest some of those products by licking their hands or chewing on their hair or clothing. I think that as humans we will be healthier if we make wise choices about what we apply to our bodies, but as a rule for SCD, there are no rules about what type of hair care/skin care/body care products that we have to use. The SCD itself is concerned with what you swallow because that is what goes through the digestive tract and can affect the flora in the gut. Guest guest
What about bubbles? My son plays with bubbles ALL the time and is VERY oral. I know he must get some of this in his system. Could that be hindering his progress? We were one of those first month success stories, who has gone down hill since and are a bit discouraged. Now, the DAN doc wants to put us on supplements, 2 of which contain rice flour and one that says " natural polysaccharides. " This can be so frustrating. But we KNOW we saw progress the first month. Sorry to vent . . . Anyway, the bubbles??? Is there a kind that CAN be ingested legally? , mom to Tyler (5.5) autism, SCD legal 3 months (except maybe for bubbles) Re: legal toothpaste " ....Are we supposed to use legal shampoo, deoderant, lotions... etc... everything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our body " Well, this is mostly true for the small kids on the list who might be apt to ingest some of those products by licking their hands or chewing on their hair or clothing. Bubbles that can be ingested, sorry I have no idea on that one. Jody mom to -6 and -8 SCD 26 months
