Guest guest
Dry Skin and Itching To help with dry skin: • Bath less often and use milder soaps or a soap substitute • do NOT use hot water to bathe or shower • use warm to tepid water to bathe • do not dry off completely • leave the skin a little damp and apply lanolin to the skin to form a barrier to keep the moisture on the skin • if you use oil, please apply AFTER you get out of your bath .. oil can make the tub extremely slippery and dangerous Drink PLENTY OF WATER I cannot stress this enough. WATER, WATER, WATER. Our bodies need water. At least 8 eight-ounce glasses of water is needed a day to keep the body healthy and the skin supple. Sometimes people go into the hospital, need an IV inserted and the nurse cannot find a suitable vein. 90% of these people are dehydrated. They have not been drinking enough water. Caffeine is a diuretic .. that means it makes the body kick out extra water along with potassium. Tea, coffee, sodas, and chocolate should be eliminated or at least limited in the diet as they contain caffeine. Organ meats such as calf or chicken liver should not be eaten. They sometimes can cause itching because the patient's liver cannot handle the sudden influx of iron as well as other toxins such as nitrate. People who take iron supplements may experience itching episodes as well. Lowering the iron dosage usually relieves the itching.

Guest guest
I am also familiar with Burt's Bees products. They sell them at the healthfood stores here. The products are supposed to be made of food grade ingredients. The theory being that you shouldn't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your mouth as skin absorbs lotions and creams. I also use Better Botanicals body wash in the shower, it really helps the dry skin and never irritates my sensitive skin. Hope you find relief & help soonest...
