Guest guest
To the inquiring minds: Scrapple is, quite simply, pig " scraps " (the pieces left over after they make the hams, bacon, pork chops and other things) molded into a block. You slice it about 1/4 " thick, and fry it with eggs or other breakfast stuff. I'm not sure how it is seasoned, but it is awesome. It's basically a variation on sausage. I never realized growing up that it was a regional thing. Not all that many people I've met outside of the Philadelphia area have ever heard of it. Most people from out of town who asked what it was were told, " Don't ask, just try it! " Yum, now I want some!
