Cheers , that one was a goodie :)

I haven't checked medscape bulletins for a couple of weeks, so I hadn't read

this one. The link below opened fine without me having to log in with username

etc btw, so hopefully those who are not members might find the same thing.

Dare I ask about Jess?

Thought some of you might want to check out this link, its from Medscape

so if you have never registered with them you will have to. It lists the

old and new AEDs, their side effects and interactions, what goes with

what seizure type, what can aggravate what seizure types

Well my kiddie already has a big tummy on keto, and I'm hoping for the opp if

and when he ever comes off it, but a bit of a diff scenario here after the

abnormal fat distribution/catabolic dramas.

I bet she is in heaven with 'normal' food, and I like the 'so far so good'.

Can't ask for much more eh? Well, we can, but that'll do for now :)

Dec 1st? Typically when things would hit the fan?

Listen to this, they had their Enrolment tonight for Girl Guides. I knew

there would be all kinds of sweets afterwards so told her she could have

2 things, but only 2. I wasn't going to go (she's a second yr so not

actually getting enroled herself) but then decided to. I go talking to

one of the leaders and when I went to find her........seven different

sweets on her plate! The little monkey, I told her she had to give me

one. So she looked at them all carefully, most were chocolate in some

form, and handed me the mini blueberry muffin - the smallest and most

healthiest thing on her plate LOL

Actually November is so if we make it through that month we will know

for sure we have something working :)

Can't say as I would be doing it any differently right now if I were her,

hopefully the novelty will soon wear off though, lol.

Roll on Dec then, seizure free through Nov but with a big tummy, sounds like

an okay trade... :)

I gather from this that Jess is no longer on the KGD.

Bet she's enjoying herself with all those sweeties!

Is Jess just on Keppra now or is it with something else?

Oh my goodness, sorry, just found this is my buried inbox.

think I will share before I answer you Saro, a week ago got together

with some of the moms from another list, the Cafe, some will know what I

am talking of. Spent 5 days away wiht them, it was absoloutely amazing,

something we said we were going to do for ages. But it took one of the

mom's little girls passing away before we said This is nuts, life is too

short, lets just do it! So we did! Am sharing this for two reasons - one

to say how wonderful these lists can be (I have been on keto lists for

close to 7 years now and you can make some real friendships) and second,

to remind, we never do know what is going to happen (good or bad!),

sometimes we just have to take a step into the unknown and do!

Okay, sorry, yes, Jess came off the diet over the summer. She is now on

1000 mg Keppra and 2500 mg NOW brand Carnosine. If we make through Nov,

it will be one year with no seizures. So please pray for us!

Congrats ! That is awesome that she was able to come off the diet

and NO SEIZURES!! How does she tolerate the Keppra? and side effects? We are

curious because we are either going to be going back on keto or doing AEDs

and Keppra is one the neuro talks about.

Again, I am so happy for you and for Jess that this diet payed off and now

you have seizure control.

Thanks for sharing. Sara told me she was going to the

Keto Cafe get together. It must have been wonderful

to meet people we know well through the lists.

Sending positive thoughts your way for Jess to continue

to be sz-free.

Well its not my favourite drug......but not my least favourite either.

Definite behaviour effects but not as bad as depakote or lamictal. Lets

just say that I can live with Keppra at its current level but wouldn't

be any fan of raising the dose.

As far as being off the diet with none of those things, don't know that.

Remember Jess is a bit strange in that she has regularly designated " s "

months.....and we haven't hit one of those since we came off the diet.

First one will be November.......
