Helen, I am JoAnn and sign s Momma under my name. Do not think have written you as of yet, and reason is just very hard to stay in this hard chair long enough to get to many emails. So please know that I am glad your doing better but like Jai, have not seen message you speak of that has this doctor in trouble. But am glad that you must of done something of course, to get him called on the carpet, so to speak. And am glad, as doctors need to learn compassion and common sense. Hope you stay well and know look forward to knowing you better.

Well, Monday night is here and I am happy to say that I am feeling almost back to normal. I phone my dr this morning and had a new RX written. The mailed one never came today either. Luckily, my mom lives near the office and was able to pick it up for me. I got the pills at about 3 p.m. I think they are finally working. I am so grateful to all of you for writing in support and giving me some info. For those who read my post about the on-call dr, he is being written up by the medical group administrator. I hope he will never do to another person what he did to me.

Hi Helen,

I am so glad that you got your meds and are feeling better. I read all of the posts but somehow I missed the one about the on-call doc. What happened? I don't know how I missed it!?!?!?!?!?!? Take care, Love Jai

Hi JoAnn, Jai and everyone,

Sorry I didn't respond to you before now. My two little

granddaughters were over visiting for the day and I cherish every

second with them. On Sunday, many in the group suggested I call my

dr's answering service to get some direction on how to cope without

the morphine. The on call doc just kept repeating that he would not

give me drugs. I never asked him to and told him that I was not

looking for any. Only some advice and to give me some idea what

symptoms might indicate I should go to an ER. I asked him what would

happen and he said " nothing will happen...opiate withdrawal is not

life threatening " When I said I had been told it was possibly

dangerous, he said " then go to an ER " . It sounded like a party going

on in the background (it was noon time). He never asked how high a

dose of morphine I had been taking and for how long. According to

the pain clinic doc, I am on a high dose and have been for over a

year now. I suffered through a miserable weekend and finally got

relief late Monday. And I still haven't received the original RX in

the mail, so it is either lost or the clerical didn't mail it (not

the first time). I reported the doctor on call to my dr's nurse and

she in turn reported him to the group practice administrator.

> Sorry to make this such a long note, but I don't have a knack for

being brief. :-)

Hope you all have a good evening. Since I have been awake since

Sunday a.m. and it is now 11 p.m. on Tuesday, I am going to bed and

hope to sleep. Many pain free days and gentle hugs to all of you.

Love, Helen

Helen,

2 things the first is that is your note is not that long, just ask a lot of us who get to writing novels on here.

2nd I am glad that you have reported this doctor, but sorry that you had to do it.

I am glad that you now have your morphine. Last week at my doctors office they wrote the wrong date and the wrong amount on my pain medication which is Methadone, I found this out when I was filling up my pill minder, I find this is so helpful to me because then all I have to do is get the medication out for the day and time needed, anyway I discovered I would be out on Sat. I called in the office and they wrote me a knew one, she asked me if I wanted her to mail it and I said NO I don't want it to get lost in the mail, so my Son in law drove me there and now all is well.

I am so sorry that your doctors office wouldn't work with you.

But I am glad that you now have it

My sleep pattern has been so screwed up it is not funny. I am so sleepy in the early evenings that I can't stay awake and then when it is time for bed of course I can't get to sleep. Oh well such is life.

See I told you that your message wasn't long,

take care

Helen,

I'm glad that you was able to report the on-call doctor, because he sounded like a horses @ss! Morphine withdrawls aren't that dangerous my butt......I'd like to see HIM go thru them and THEN tell you that it isn't dangerous!!!

The next time you get a freak of a doctor telling you that, ask him/her if they have ever gone thru withdrawls from it themselves......and if they say no, then ask them how the hell can they honestly give you an answer? THEY CAN'T unless they are lying thru their butt!!! Then tell them that they took an oath to help people.....not to make them feel worse, or to live in such severe pain that just listening to them talk with their so called medical license, all it's doing is making you think more and more of committing suicide. I bet ya $50 that they would tell you to come in immediately and that you would be treated like the Queen of.......whatever you want to be queen of, and that doctor would bend over backwards to help ya!

Good luck, and I really hope that you can find a better idiot with a medical license than that jackass!

Good for you, Helen! He needs to be reported. How many others does he treat like this and they don't bother to report it?! That's the problem, I will report something and they'll say "well, no one else has complained." I say back to them "not everyone takes the time to do it even though they feel the same way!" And it's true.

Love,
