Guest guest
Turned out to be a very stressful afternoon!! Took my mom, 7yo and 16 mo to hearing aid fitting today. My usually well behaved kids turned into monsters within about a half a second. Wanting to touch everyting, jumping around, being very loud, ect, ect. Stella screamed like crazy the whole time we were there. So we couldn't tell what her reaction was to the aids. Also, I had NO idea how much these aids were going to cost! Thankfully we didn't have to shell it out and only have to pay the $145 insurance per aid in case something happens to them. But I about fell over when they said the aids cost $4,000!! WOW!!! I told them I was extremely nervous about her taking them to school and they said not to worry that her school is used to hearing aids. BUT I wonder about the other kids grabbing them. $145 per aid, to me, is a lot of money and I can't afford to be buying these aids over and over. They are ordering some kind of critter holder that clips to the back of her shirt. $15 I can handle that I hope it works!! As I type, Stella is having snack. I plan on bathing her and trying the aids again a little later. I tried one on myself and noticed the first thing I heard was our fish tanks. The pumps were REALLY loud and freaky sounding. Guess I need to unplug them while she is wearing the aids. Vicki (one wore-out momma!!)
