Hi, all -

I just wanted to let you know that I have final word on the Jaffe Bros.

(www.organicfruitandnuts.com) nut supply. Unfortunately, Larry Jaffe told me

that they were planning to make the packaging process free of

cross-contamination with peanut a few months ago, but the owner (Emma Jaffe)

wouldn't let them. She told me over the phone that it was safe, but Larry told

me over a few emails that there is definite cross-contamination. He doesn't know

of any company that can guarantee peanut-free nut supplies.

Can anyone recommend other resources? I would really like to make my son muffins

and baked goods, but cannot risk cross-contamination. He only tests positive for

peanut (but had mild anaphylaxis to that).

Thanks -

Kathy

Here is a company that says their almonds and walnuts are peanut

free and gluten free.

Sorry, I could not get the link to come up. The name of the company

is " Four K Farms " . You should have no problem finding it with a

google search.

Here is a copy of the email sent to me this week:

We currently only grow and process almonds and walnuts. We do not

have any peanuts or peanut products so none of our products are

cross contaminated.

Our Almond flour and Almond Butter are completely free of anything

but almonds. Whatever is in almonds is the only thing in our

products. The almond butter only contains natural oils from the

almonds themselves. We have also not taken anything out of the

almonds for the flour and butter.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
