Guest guest
When I started taking immunosuppressants, I had small sores inside my mouth that didn't heal. I tried, salt water, antibiotic creams and nothing helped. Finally I got VALTREX and have not had sores since. I take it every day to prevent a return of the herpes (cold sores) I suffered from cold sores with ever illness since childhood, sometimes I think i got them from just looking at someone else with a cold sore. After my Dad's funeral I had so many at once that I told the kids I was teaching that I had a new puppy who liked me so much, he licked my lips off. Since valtrex, -not a single sore, it is my favorite pill to take. Take care MizKit

I have always had pretty bad apthous ulcers(Canker Sores?,Herpes?,or Crohns ulcers?)in my mouth, they are deep(and take forever to heal) and beleive it or not the deep ones actually leave scars in your mouth. The pain is like being hit on your toes with a hammer(shock wave). I know the VA has Valtrex, maybe I should ask them to put me on it, then I could find out if its Herpes or Crohns(I really beleive that Canker Sores are some form of IBD or Crohns that just extend from the intestinal tract up into the throat and mouth. Great to hear the Valtrex is working for you. Its a good med. I took it for overnite sudden sensorineural hearing loss in my left ear, along with a pulse of high dose Prednisone. I regained some of my hearing back. Andi, PSC/Crohns 2001/2002 Modesto California
