Tery,

The injection sites just have to be a few inches apart, so there really

isn't a need to change legs. At least that is what I was told. I don't

give myself the shots, so I'm not much help. Are you having any site

reaction?

Tery,

Have you tried giving the shot in your stomach? That is much easier for me

than the thigh.

Pat,

I've been too chicken to try that yet, but on Monday I think I'm gonna see if

I can. For some reason I just have a problem with my left thigh. Not like I

don't have enough " fat " around my tummy to keep it from hurting.

On Thursday am (like at 6:15) I had an audience watching me. My son and

hubby both stood over me watching me. It was the first time my hubby has

watched, he is really squeamish (sp). My son likes to give me a Band-Aid.

Not that I need it, he says it his job and he likes to help mommy. So sweet.

Tery,

What a sweet son you have. With help like that you can do anything. How

about giving the shot on Thursday on your right thigh and the Monday shot

on your right stomach? If you do that you will not have to use the left

side. Once you are more comfortable with giving the shots, you can start

using the left side if you want to. I think others will agree with me - the

stomach is easier than the thigh - most of us have lots of area to choose

from.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Tery,

After my knee replacements I was given shots of a blood thinner, coumidin,

in my stomach. If I ever have to give Enbrel to myself, I will definately

pick the stomach. The trick to it not hurting is in the skin pinch.

Pinching enough to grab the skin and applying a LITTLE pressure to the pinch

makes me not hardly feel the needle. My thigh skin is not as pinchable as

my stomach. Most areas of my thigh are so sensitive to pressure and touch

that it would hurt to much. I think the fibro does that. My stomach skin

is very pinchable LOL! Of course everyone is different and will find their

best injection sites.

Your son is so sweet to get you a band aid :)

Keri,

There is currently no evidence that the use of Enbrel produces birth

defects. Enbrel is being used in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization

to block certain killer cells that cause miscarriages caused by the immune

system. Whether Enbrel influences fertility is unknown. I can't find any

documentation regarding enbrel and it's effect on sperm.

Thanks a, I went to Enbrel's site but didn't see anything. But

I'm assuming that if they are using it with In-Vetro cases thatn they

must think it's fairly safe for this situation.

Thanks again.
