Liver Catheterization with drainage bag

Hi as a newbie to the group and struggling most of the month with my

husband in the hospital with a major flare up of his PSC, I thought I

would post to see if anyone else had had a liver catheterization done

and how it worked out for them. My husband had this done this past

Thurs when balloon dilations and stents did not sufficiently relieve

the blockages in his liver.

He was finally supposed to have come home today but when I got to the

hospital this morning his temp was 100.2, so we stay another day at

least. Needless to say the hours drive to the hospital is also taking

its toll on me.

Other test results are pending that will determine whether they will

also continue with the liver transplant evaluation.

As a little background my husband has had UC since the early 70's and

was diagnosed in early '94 with PSC. Up until this flare up he

really had not had much trouble with the PSC having last been

hospitalized with it in '98 when he had a gallstone stuck in the

biliary tree.

Hoping to at least start the new year with him at home.
