Guest guest
Hello Everyone, The following recommendations are from an Email which I sent to someone recently. This person had inquired about the effectiveness of cea LTD disks. I also mentioned several alternative treatments and countermeasures which have helped me. Hopefully some of these will be useful to others in the group. <<<>>> Before you start using the cea LTD, I recommend that you find a moisturizing oil if you are not already using one. The LTD guidebook will also recommend applying a small amount of oil just before applying the LTD. The oil then gradually sinks into the skin, taking the LTD compounds with it. Jojoba oil is very benign, it is available at GNC or a health food store. Emu oil is also good. Olive oil is OK too. Use small amounts of oil, no more than a few drops. Run water over your fingers and spread out the oil with wet fingers. Then wet the LTD and apply very small amounts to the oiled skin. Remember, LTD is concentrated. If you use too much it will do more harm than good, especially when you first start using LTD. There is no magic silver bullet for vascular flushing. LTD helps many people. Photoderm helps many. BUT, remember that there is no single solution at present. I had very good improvement from 10 photoderm tx's, but I still view treatment as an ongoing process which requires multiple strategies. I take large amounts of Ester C and grape seed extract every day, as recommended by Dr Nase. I also take bioflavonoids such as quercetin and rutin every day. The bioflavonoids and GSE strengthen vessels, especially small facial vessels. Vitamin C and bioflavonoids work synergistically to reduce inflammation and strengthen cell walls, so they are less likely to release histamine and prostoglandins which trigger and aggravate flushing. ZincO is a good product if you tolerate it. Each mornining I apply oil, then LTD, then ZincO. The oil and ZincO provide a protective barrier against the facial skin, making it more resilient. The ZincO protects against sun exposure, and protects the face against heat which causes flushing. The zinc and dimethicone generally reduce skin inflammation, and the tinted ZincO masks the worst of facial redness. The zinc/dimethicone combination was recommended by Dr. Nase, who also endorsed cea LTD. The guys at LTD recommend drinking LOTS of cold water, and this is good advice. This will definitely reduce flushing, as I've found by personal experience. Another thing which helps is aloe gel, if your skin tolerates it. The aloe cools the skin quite well, and can reduce or eliminate hot flushing. Aspirin also helps, and can be a lifesaver if taken along with plenty of ice cold water. Together, aspirin and lots of ice water can alleviate a bad flush in about 15 minutes. Again, there is no single solution to this problem. In order to control vascular flushing, you must build as large and varied an arsenal as possible, because this condition demands it. The good news is, if you hit it with enough components, you can just about eliminate the flushing. <<<>>> ~Jim
Guest guest
I am pasting the dosages recommended by Dr Nase for Ester C and GSE down below. The Ester C dosage is extremely high. I would start at a much lower dosage of Ester C, and slowly increase the dosage. For GSE, I believe that Dr Nase specifically recommended Proanthodyn by Source Naturals. The lowest prices I have seen on this and other supplements are at vitaminshoppe.com. Their shipping charge is only $5 per order, which is a bargain in terms of gas, mileage, and (most important) time and hassle spent running up&down the aisles in a B&M. ~Jim <<<>> (Body weight) Under 150lbs - Try to work up to 1,000mg Ester C + 200mg grape seed extract - 3x daily Above 150lbs - Try to work up to 2,000mg Ester C + 200mg grape seed extract - 3x daily It sounds like a lot to take and is expensive, but is worth it! <<<>>
