Guest guest
a C, I love hibiscus they are so beautiful! My parents have hibiscus bushes along side their house and they are always having someone come and cut them back. People grow them here but extra care has to be given them this time of year because of the cold, they don't grow very big here. Wish I could help you identify your tree but I have no idea what it could be. Maybe you could find your tree at http://www.arborday.org/trees/whatzone.html I didn't know you could grow apples in the desert but then again I had no idea how much cotton was grown there! hugs... karol Re: fr Karol Karol, those are beautiful. We have to cut our hybiscus bushes way back each year or they take over our back patio. We have these three trees in our back yard and I have no idea what they are, but they are very tall with few leaves and once a year they get these seed pods that look like turtle shells and then about a month later they bloom these long rows of beautiful lavender flowers with white lines right by the pollen part. The hummingbirds love them but I cant find them at the nursery to figure out what they are called. Our house was already landscaped when we bought it so there are several flowers and trees that we are unsure of. We tried to plant an apple tree but it croaked during the summer. I guess it needed even more water then we were giving it. That's the hard part about the desert. You can grow a lot of things but it takes a TON of water!a C Next month is always my favorite month here because all the Azaleas are blooming and the Wisteria. Those are the two main plants with a beautiful show of color for spring. Our Azaleas here are a different variety than those in Arizona, I think. We have some huge ones that, if left unattended will reach over eight feet tall. They can be huge! If we didn't trim our bushes you wouldn't be able to see the house. It's to bad that Azaleas have no fragrance.
