Mojo,

glad you are back and believe me, I certainly understand if you don't post

as much.

Today was my 43rd b'day. My mom, sis and I spent all day in Birmingham (100

miles south). Sis had an appointment at 9 a.m. to get her IV

immunoglobulin. The rheumy discovered she has an immunoglobulin deficiency

and that's why she has had constant infections for the last 5 or 6 years.

She'll have to get IV immunoglobulin monthly for the rest of her life. I had

an appointment with my rheumatologist at 3 p.m. She runs notoriously late,

so they ended up telling me to come at 4:30 p.m. We didn't leave there

until 7 p.m. so it was after 9 p.m. when I got home. We had a good day,

though. We met my daughter for lunch between our appointments and then went

to the mall that is near Brookwood Medical Center. All in all I had a good

birthday, even if part of the day was spent at the doctor's office.

My rheumy is referring me to Mayo clinic. She said she was not happy with

just accepting that I have chronic pancreatitis and that I have to live the

rest of my life being in the hospital every 1-2 months and living on

narcotic pain meds. She wants me to have a full workup at Mayo. Her nurse

will contact Mayo and give them the info they need and then Mayo will

contact me and we'll set up a time. The doctor seemed to think Mayo would

be able to get me in before the wedding, but I told my rheumy that going

anywhere in May was positively out! To be honest, I really don't think I

can handle going at all until after the wedding is done.

It's now almost 1 a.m. and I have been up since 4:30 a.m., so close to 24

hours. Needless to say, I am exhausted. Gotta get to bed.
