Give it a few days, Arne! This time of year is frantic for most of us. Speaking for myself, there just hasn't been spare time to go investigate the other website. You might want to consider leaving this one open for an additional week or two, just so people can recover from the holidays before putting their mind to something new. I have been thinking a lot about this over the past week or so and have spent some time at the Network54 page and I have browsed through many of the other forums hosted there and I even created a forum of my own to see all the options that are available but not enabled on the forum Arne Created. I think it's great that we are considering other options, but here are my suggestions. I think we all need a little more time to consider the options and have some of the pros and cons presented in an easy to understand summary. Arne correct me if I am wrong, but the Forum you created on Network54 was an example or proof of concept of one option for changing the hosting of PSC Support. I did not view this as a choice of do we stick with Yahoo Groups or do we move to Network54's hosted forum and those are the only two options. I thought we were exploring the concept of moving from an Email based list to a modern online discussion forum including a main discussion area and separate topic areas and not a specific host. I can't imagine we want to make this transition more than once so I think careful consideration should be taken to make sure that our present and future needs are taken into consideration. I would propose that we delay this until after the holidays and have a few interested people get together online and/or by phone to write up a few bullet points of why this move is a great idea and what the benefits are as well as any potential downsides. At that point we could have a poll to decide if this is the direction we want to go in. I am sure there will be some people that are all for it, some that are happy with things as they are and others that have gotten used to this present format and are apprehensive about learning something new. If we decide Yes to go in this new direction, then I think that same group should investigate all the options and evaluate which hosting, platform and software they would reccomend. I would like to offer to be a part of that effort. I participate in many different online forums and email lists myself and I have my own Blog(s) running Wordpress on hosted Linux servers with a MySQL database backend. I am in no way a developer, but I have been involved in a few web creations in the last few years: http://psc.zaloudek.net http://bike.zaloudek.net http://www.severnaparkpeloton.org http://mjzraz.googlepages.com/home http://www.zaloudek.net http://www.berrywoodsouth.org Mike Z

Guest guest
I'd try registering again. Which one are you trying? http://pscsupport.proboards91.com/ Or http://www.network54.com/Index/75056 ??
