Guest guest
Oh my, that's no fun. Thanks for the warning. Kristan's BM's are usually runny and we have had many messy up the back ones, but I wouldn't want it to be any worse! Satnam > Re: replacing MCT with flax oil > Be really careful with the flax oil....I tried to replace the MCT Rebekah has been on for the past three years, just recently. I decided to keep her on the MCT until all of her meds were gone because as soon as I started to decrease it her ketones also dropped. I tried replacing part of it with MCT..only about 3 mls with flax oil and by the end of the day she had a MAJOR explosive runny BM....so just a warning to be cautious since flax tends to get things moving rather quickly....at least in her case it did!!! > LaVerna, mom to Rebekah > > > >
Guest guest
I add flax oil into ph's meals.I think all kids are different and we have not seen any adverse effects so far.I add 8-15 gm per meal and he loves it! It smells pretty good and I think he likes this smell.I think it does keep his ketones on higher level(we are on 3:1 ratio) Natasha, mom to 2 years old ph,suspected SMEI/Dravet's syndrome, keto kid since August 23 2004
Guest guest
You shouldn't have that situation. There is something wrong. The diet definitely will have a very poor chance of working if the digestive system is impaired like that. Have you used anti-biotics? That's probably the leading cause of difficulties. Try giving a small amount of natural yogurt or capsules of acildolphilus for a few days and see if that makes an improvement. Otherwise look at the food to see if there is something that could be causing the upset. Perhaps there is an intolerance. It definitely should not be that way unless there is an illness.
