I received my intense copy. I have 3 more contacts to get. I have a mammogram this Thursday. My complete physical will be done with me internist her on 4/18. I'm going to take my pictures on Saturday. All I have to do is write my patient letter and I just don't know where to start. My husband has to write his and he is having g a little problem putting his feelings into words. That's were I am, just doing my part and waiting on the insurance. I'd love to be a support partner for you 'cause I believe it is the only way to go. Where are you in the process? God Bless Deb >> Hi Deb, Sounds like we are close enough in the works that we could possibly be litter mates! I'm afraid I did things backwards. LOL I started with all the pre-op Dr visits before Insurance approval. I wasn't sure how to go about it. Actually it was good because I ended up having to have an indometrial biopsy after my Pap. And then after my mammogram They made me go for and ultra sound, spot compression mamo, and finally a breast biopsy for a mass in my right breast! Needless to say I spent all my days off for February and March in Drs. office. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse and had to have a stress test and Echocardiogram just to satisfy the Doc. Luckily and after many worrisome nights all the tests came back negative for any serious problems. Now my biggest hurdle is the insurance co! They approve the surgery but not with Dr R because he is out of network. I'm in the process of fighting that now. They told me a few days ago that I have to get a referral for Dr R from another Bariatric surgeon in the network. I don't see another Dr in the same business saying " hey go to another Dr who is better than me! " So I feel like I'm at a stand still. I plan to make an appointment but who knows what will happen. I refuse to give up!! I'm not thrilled about having my picture done but will do that this weekend. I would love to be your " support buddy " We all have to stick together! Guest guest
JoAnn, There may be other Drs. out there, but I don't know of any that do this procedure through a laproscope. That is what makes Dr. R. so special. I will fight my insurance tooth and nail over this if I have to. Not only is he the only one who doe it, but the cost to the insurance company is a great deal less than with the open procedure. I've paid enough in premiums over the last 3 years that if I want this they should cough up the rest. The CEO of our hospital has been known to cll me a bull dog in a cocker body. I'm not afraid to speak my mind or fight for my rights. After I am a patient advocate in my profession as an RN. Keep the faith girl and we will get there.
