Guest guest
Ali, We met with Dr. Keljo today (Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh / UPMC). He feels it is time to remove the colon. There are no more medications to try. I have very mixed feelings about this, but will move forward. Thanks for asking. I 'm sure not too happy about homebound instruction. Are they going to try a different med? I know that the year before TX Imuran worked for me. Having said that my colitis is quiescent right now. I hate to say it out loud - you never know. Ali -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Wow ! He seems to be Mr. Caution to me…so I would say that he must have exhausted everything he could have. Who will do the surgery? Is there anything I can do for you? I can come out and be with you. Let me know. I am not that far away. Guest guest
, Thanks for the offer – I am blessed with plenty of family in the area so we are all pulling together to support the family in what ever we need. Dr. Kane will be the surgeon. I really like him, and Suzanne does too, so we are feeling confident that we have the right team put together. Dr. Szigethy is also part o four team, she is an assistant professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics and has been a blessing to have as part of the team. She just got word from CCFA that they found funding for a support group for mom’s and teenage girls with IBD. Suzanne is willing to join the group, so I am hopeful that the timing will be right for her to talk to other teens about what is happening. Take care of yourself and Noah. Guest guest
, I haven't been online in a few days and just read your post. I am SO SO sorry. Please let me know if there is anything I can do...you have my number, so please just call. My daughter Marcy saw Dr. Keljo a couple of months ago and I was quite impressed with him. Please know that you will all be in my prayers. Hugs, Joanne (mom of Todd)
Guest guest
--- Best wishes for a uncomplicated surgery and speedy recovery for Suzanne. Deb had her colon surgery all in one phase as well....no complications. It just takes awhile for the body to adjust. We will be thinking of you.
