Guest guest
Hi all---i was diagnosed with Celiac's about 2 months ago, and only this week had my first outbreak of DH. Anyhow, I'm ion a strict diet, but i know it can take time... so I was looking for advice on medicenes... I can't take the regular ones (they're not available in israel, and I'm allergic to sulfa)---i've heard about B3 and tetracycline---I was wondering what the normal dosage for that is? thanks a ton
Guest guest
Dear , Yes, it can take time. I won't be any help with the meds... I never had to use them. My DH was on my scalp. I found that if I used shampoos with wheat, I broke out there. Of course, I broke out there when I was still eating gluten. I hope someone will answer your question about meds... but just wanted to let you know that while I was going gf I still had breakouts. However, they would not be as bad the time before.. until one day they were gone. Wishing you health!! Guest guest
Hi, It took me almost 6 months before the Dh began to subside. The intestinal part of Celiac started feeling better in about 3 months. I only use over the counter cortisone ointment on my occasional outbreaks from contamination. Guest guest
I second what Carol said. It took a long time for the DH to go away. They tried me on prednisone by mouth which I reacted to by having my blood sugar go up to 283. Then they had to wean me off the prednisone and put me on a by mouth diabetic med. After 3 months I was able to wean off with normal blood sugar. So just be careful about meds, please. Shirley in San DiegoCarol Heppner wrote: Dear , Yes, it can take time. Guest guest
Can you get some hydrocortisone cream? I just use it whereever the itch is and let the rest heal on it's own. Opposite of others, I think my DH cleared easier than my gut. Tyra > > Hi all---i was diagnosed with Celiac's about 2 months ago, and only > this week had my first outbreak of DH. Guest guest
My doctor prescribed Acyclovir for my dh. It works fast. It also has other uses, so don't freak out when you see what else it cures. Christal Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. We'll help. Yahoo! Small Business. Guest guest
Our experience is that the DH lasts for months after an accidental glutening.
