Guest guest
Hey there! Good to hear from you! I was wondering what was up??? I am soo glad to hear your heart is ok and you are able to exercise again. No more shoveling here the last week. After that last snowfall it got really cold, -15. Now it's warm, 38-40 and raining off and on. I kind of would like some new snow. Things are starting to look dirty and yucky. This warm weather doesn't make driving real fun either. In fact I am home today because of it. I need to go to the laundromat but don't feel like sliding around and lugging laundry. That and my back is acting up and I think that would do it in for sure. I'm going to see my chiro tomorrow. I'm sure he'll have words with me about the shoveling. Although I really tried to use good form, I know I pushed it a bit. I hadn't been to the gym in about 3 weeks because of the shoveling and laundromat stuff. Felt that was enough! But Mike was home sick yesterday and there wasn't anyone with a key, 2 other guys were out sick too. Nasty crud going around! So I went and unlocked the shop and then went to the gym. I was missed! A few people were like hey! Where have you been?! That was nice. :-) I had a good workout. Since I'm not going to the laundromat today I'm going to do the tread. I'm not feeling real ambitious but I'm sure I'll feel better once I get on there. I always do. I used up the rest of our turkey. Made some soup. It's cooking up nicely and the house is starting to smell really good! Just wanted to say hi. I'm glad to hear you having such a great attitude about the numbers and getting things going again. I bet you make to 180 by X-mas no problem! I have faith in you! Take care. Hugs, Gena > good morning all. i have been so busy lately, haven't had time to > post. i did however read every email-only took me three days. i > decided to respond in one email instead of answering individually. > rhonda, congrats on your new found job. i am sure you will do fine. > to all the new members, welcome, i hope you find this group as > helpful and friendly as i have, no matter how much weight you have > to lose-it is all about support and encouragment here. elana, you > are doing so good girl, you will get under 200-i have faith in you. > pat, how's your weight loss going? gena, how's the shoveling? i > shouldn't be laughing because i know i will have my fair share of it > in the upcoming months. catalina and autumn-you guys are so awesome, > i can't imagine this group without you guys. and congrats autumn on > giving up the smokes. you will feel so much better! as for myself, i > am sitting here at 187.5 after two weeks of no exercise and eating > fast food like it was going out of style. my heart is fine-no > problems there, the doctor figures it had to be a muscle. so after > two days of exercise-finally, i am rejuvinated and ready to start > anew. i don't know if i will get to 180 by xmas, but it isn't that > big of a number thing anymore to me, just looking and feeling > better. yeah, the numbers are nice, but i think we all put too much > emphasis on the scale-i know, me the scale addict. if i have missed > anyone in my post, accept my apology. many of you know i am dealing > with a terminally ill family member, which will either make me > stronger(hopefully) or do me in(hope not). our family had a > wonderful thanksgiving together, which i am very grateful for. > placido-i am not sure what to tell you, other than you have to do > this for youself. how goes the drinking? i know you were having > issues with that. i hope this finds you well. you deserve to be > happy. as do we all.....good luck to all of us in our weight loss > journey and remember we can all do this. really we can! > nan > > > > >
Guest guest
Nan, Well I'm glad you are feeling better physically and mentally in spite of the mono. That is great! You are right. The numbers on the scale are not as important as working on habits, eating good, getting consistent exercise, ect... Just take care of yourself! Niki had mono a few years ago and man it can be serious! So just worry about getting well and enjoying the holidays right now. We are just getting over the flu around here. I was pretty sick on Tues and Wed. Even missed bowling! It is snowing like crazy today. started sometime last night. It's going on 3:00 and still coming down so guess I will be shoveling tomorrow. although I have to be careful. Got chewed out by , my chiro and then Mike went to see him the next day and came home kind of chewing me out more. Threatening to take my shovel away! LOL just wants me to be careful and make sure I'm doing it right which I think I do. Well have to run. You take care! Hugs, Gena > thanks gena, but here i am at 186 and it's not looking > good for the 180 by xmas, but like i said before, i am > not really looking at the numbers. after exercising > for two days, i ended up with mono, which put me right > back to square one. but that's okay too. i am feeling > better both mentally and physically, and that is what > counts. we have a little snow on the ground finally > thanks to a little storm. i'm not gonna shovel just > yet. see ya. > nan

Guest guest
Hey Nan, I so know what you mean! What helps me is I promise myself 10 minutes. It's not much but it's something. It's the getting started that is hard. I find most the time once I get on there I'm fine so I set out to do 10 min but usually wind up doing more. So maybe try that, just 10 min a day to get back in the routine. Gena :-) > well, 187 today, but i am not letting it get me down. > i wish i had someone here to really get me going on > that treadmill again.
