Leah,

As far as I understand it shouldn't be a symptom of the biopsy. I had a biopsy twice, and both times it was nasty, but I never had nausea after a biopsy. I did have attacks of neasea when I became symptomatic last year. A combination of a few ERCPs, stents, medication and the removal of my gallbladder helped me with that.

Regards,

Chaim

Robbie had a liver biopsy done on Thursday last week and has since Friday/ Saturday been very nauseous. No pain symptoms, but is extremely nauseous and is generally feeling quite sick all the time. While we haven't yet got the results of the biopsy, this 'sickness' doesn't seem to be a side effect of the biopsy, but one of PSC. Cannot understand why the biopsy should trigger this ....Leah

Hi Leah;

If you have not done so already, please tell Robbie's doctor(s) about

his nausea:

Liver Biopsy Symptoms

http://www.emedicinehealth.com/liver_biopsy/page3_em.htm

" Nausea or vomiting: Persistent nausea or vomiting needs attention to

ensure that there are no intra-abdominal complications related to

your liver biopsy. "

Hi Leah, lovely to hear from you again.

Pleased the actual biopsy went well and I do hope that others will be

able to help with the nausea. Best wishes to Robbie
