Guest guest
Hi, Because I can't purchase nut flour in my country, it was suggested that I use peanut butter instead. I've searched all the SCD sites for nut butter bread recipes, but with no luck. Plse can someone steer me in the right direction. Guest guest
Have you tried the peanut butter pancake recipe? Maybe you could adapt it into a flatbread recipe, similar to the Midas gold almond flour pancake/flatbread recipe. Peanut butter pancake (makes 1 large) 1 tablespoon peanut butter, salted 1 large egg pinch of baking soda (I don't use it) 1 pat butter for frying pan Mix top 3 ingredients and pour into hot, buttered medium frying pan. Turn when firm, and turn off heat at the same time. > > Hi, > Because I can't purchase nut flour in my country, it was suggested > that I use peanut butter instead. Guest guest
If you have Internet access (and I assume you do for email), you can buy nut flours online. Here are some sites that sell/ship to countries other than the U.S.: http://www.amazon.com/ http://store.yahoo.com/truefoods/ http://netrition.com/ http://store.yahoo.com/low-carb/ Those are just the first four I found using Google. Just put " almond flour " or " nut flour " in the search engine, especially one that allows geographic-specific searches like Yahoo. Good luck! > > Hi, > Because I can't purchase nut flour in my country, it was suggested > that I use peanut butter instead. If you have a food processor, blender or coffee grinder you can make your own nut flour - if you can get the nuts. If all you have is nut butter you can still make nut bread just use a little less fluid in the recipe - less oil, water, juice, vegetable puree etc. Baking in smaller pans also helps (baking in 3 x 5 " pans instead of usual bread pans). I have generally found baking at about 300°F also helps baked goods bake all the way through without burning the edges you may need to bake a little longer if you reduce the temperature.
